it could take a few days to affect him. Celiac disease can be identified through a blood test, but it is not 100% certain. Absolute certainty requires a biospy, I think. Basically, if you have have celiac, then the consumption of gluten (wheat, barley, etc etc) can over time cause perforation and permanent damage of the intestine. I have had a friend with celiac who was extremely and instantly bothered by ingesting gluten, and another who was completely asymptomatic except that she was always exhausted and could not gain any weight. It often goes hand in hand with lactose intolerance. I think it would be worth verifiying.

He has been absolutely fine since I last posted, not one runny stool. We have an appt with the dietician at the end of this month so I will just wait and see how he goes I think.

Thanks everyone.

Yes with wheat. He's having it every day as either bread or something else just like before.

Quite and I really hope it is but don't want to say for sure as I know some intolerances rumble along building up and then show symptoms. For C though it would seem that coming off it didn't make a difference so fingers crossed he gets the all clear from the doctors x
