I managed a 8pm bedtime last night because DS1 was shattered and DH drove himself to work and back so we didn't have to do the pickup run.
I wasn't sure if DS2 was tired because he had short feeds and then pushed me away. Then when I pit him in his bed he objected! So I shushed him and rubbed his back etc and managed to get out of the room. He cried when I left for 4 seconds and then settled himself down and was asleep in 15mins.

Then he slept all night long!!  ;D and they both woke at 7am. Yay!!

Today he napped for almost 3hrs from 12:40 - 3:20 but was grumpy when he woke. But that was just hunger I think!

See how we go tonight...

Thanks ladies! :)
It must have worked because he STTN again and they woke at 7am which is great.

I'm not so sure about tonight as he was super grumpy at bedtime - at only 7pm! Luckily I was able to get them both down early as DH was staying late at work.
I thought he had a decent nap today and wasn't grumpy when he woke, and we had an afternoon at home, but he barely lasted 4hrs between nap WU and BT. ???

Fingers crossed for tonight and hoping DS1 doesn't wake everyone up early because I put him to bed to deal with grumpy DS2.
He seems only too happy to be left alone in his bed now. He didn't want me to rub his back or anything, just wanted me out of the room and the light off. Can see he's happily waving his muslin around now. Lol. Expect sleep any minute. ;)

Yay for good sleep.
Some of this could be teething .. The unsettledness then tiredness - unless he has all his teeth ;)

Crappy night as I suspected. :(

He woke at 10pm for a cry and I gave him some meds just in case. Then after a short feed he went back to sleep ok till 5am.
Then he was crying and rolling around, woke DS1 up and it took me a while to get him settled again. Then he tossed and turned for a bit till about 6am and finally went back to sleep.

And DS1 woke us all up at 8am.

See how he goes today... wonder if he needs a few more 2 nap days here and there??

We generally opted for EBT as opposed to a 2nd nap in days when we needed to. There have been occasions after EW/bad nights that my DD has had a cap NTS
If 20m around 9.30am with her proper nap 2h after WU (from nap). That seemed to help push her through and get back on track with the day. Might be worth a shot?
