Moving posts - a bug?
« on: August 14, 2013, 12:12:06 pm »
I just moved a topic from D&S to G&D and had the option ticked to "post a redirection topic"

However, the link to the moved topic that was automatically inserted in the redirection post didn't work.

I have noticed links not working in these posts before, e.g. here:
MOVED: Twins!!  Has anyone successfully done BW?

So I edited my post and inserted the link from the browser so it now works:
Re: Small hard lump vulva :-(
(not sure why this is displaying the wrong topic title!)

Actually, the only difference was that in the automatically created post the link was surrounded by [xxx] ... [/xxx] (sorry - can't remember what the xxx's were since I've deleted them from my post now.

The actual link (...) bit was correct.

It seems that if the redirection posts were just made without the [xxx] ... [/xxx] around them then the links to the new posts would work fine.  Can this be changed?

Just popping in to say I've also noticed lots of redirections not working, the link always goes to an error page and the only way to find the thread is to go manually to the board it's been moved to and look for it.

Tom's time to fix all of this buggy stuff from the upgrade has been very limited by our lives lol  I hope he'll be able to get around to it soon :)  I am always here int he background pointing out the issues that I know about, have no fear.
