Thanks hayley! The past few weeks have been difficult with teeth, developmental stuff, and just figuring out the right routine for him, yk? He can be such a great sleeper if the timings are right, i just need to figure out what they are! :-\

So he fell asleep at 8pm, he fell asleep very easily and was in a good mood all afternoon.
I am now wondering, if he needs at least 5hrs A time after a good nap do i need to start capping his nap to 2hrs? We still havent figured out the morning A but it is obviously at least 5hrs, if not a bit more. So 5-5.5hr am A, 2.5hr nap and another 5-5.5hr pm A that is 12.5-13.5hr day. Maybe that is why i am getting these damn 10hr40 nights? Some days i put him down with much less than a 5hr A so he is maybe ut and then ew and on other days the nap is 2.5hrs so maybe he doesnt NEED any more night sleep?? The thing is that he is grumpy all morning until after his nap, so maybe he needs the nap capped at 2hrs so that his night is at least 11hrs? Is he not too young for all this? Is this considered LSN??

Give it a few days.  He is tired now.  Maybe the teeth has paused and he just needed more A.  Stick with 12:30 nap for 3 days and see.  Like u said, if the day needs to be 13.5, you will know when the wake up gets later and later.  Enjoy the evening ;)

It is always possible!  There is nothing like expecting 7 but see 5!  I know the feeling.  I wish I didn't lol.

I'm really not looking forward to the next WW as it sounds like its going to mess our routine up AGAIN! We have teething at the mo too but luckily isn't affecting sleep he's just v.clingy. We've had to cap his nap to 2hr15 or he starts taking longer to fall asleep and has a shorter night. I think his A time probably seems long to some mums but they are all so different and you do have to keep that in mind. We're on the following routine that's working for now...

Wake him at 7am
Nap 12.45-3
BT 6.45 asleep for 7

I think he's ready for a longer A time you just have to have the courage to go for it!  :)

Awake at 550... Better for me but still a super short night, 9hr50. He is still in his cot rolling around, i havr had to resettle once. I doubt he will go back to sleep.. ::)

Hayley, actually looking back at my notes. The last time we got a 12hr night. I was slowly shifting his nap and he took it at 1215. That day it was only 1hr45, so until 2pm but i dis my normal bt at that time, 645 and ge woke the next day at 645. The next day it all went downhill when i accidentally put him down at 1155 and we went back to our regular mess...

cap the nap to 2h?  I am surprised that with such long A, and not so long nap, you get such short night.  2nd A wasn't that short, so perhaps too long.  It is better to keep the consistency and let his body resettle to it.  What was your plan?
