Finally dropped morning bottle
« on: August 18, 2013, 21:17:26 pm »
Hi all
My lo is 2 1/2 and yesterday we took the plunge and finally dropped his morning bottle. Not sure on 2 things; what to give him first thing in the morning instead and where I add the extra calcium into his meals, he eats yoghurts, cheese and has milk on cereal.
Thanks
Clare, Mummy to Max xxxx

Mine has a cup of milk first thing in the morning then breakfast later (ditched the bottle at 13 months but continued the milk).  He also has half a cup of milk at supper, before going up for this bath and bed. Those plus cheese and any dairy in cooking. I consider that enough. I am considering moving the morning milk drink though to snack time because the nursery I have registered him to start after he is 3 offer milk and snack mid morning and I wouldn't need him to have two milk drinks in the morning (it would be nice if he drank the milk mid morning to be the same as the other kids yk - although it's not that big a deal). If you have a nursery in mind for when he is 3 maybe you can ask them when/if they offer milk.  I think reception classes still give a milk drink too.
