Urgent help - Wake her or leave her????
« on: August 30, 2013, 22:17:07 pm »
DD just started daycare this week so her napping schedule is off.  Today she only had one nap from 10-10:40 :o I rushed her home when I picked her up and put her down for a CN at 4, planning on waking her at 4:45 and BT at 7 but now I'm wondering if should just leave her if she's sleeping and treat it like a SEBT?  Anyone BTDT? WWYD?

Her EASY yesterday and today was:
WU: 6? - Played on her own until 7
S: 11:30-1:30 (first one nap day for her - she usually does a short am and long pm)
BT: wind-down at 5:45, asleep by 6:15

WU: 6:30? - Played on her own until 7:10
S: 10:00-10:40
They tried for a nap from 1-2:30
S: 4

Thanks for your quick reply.
I actually still haven't decided.  She's totally crashed out and I can't make up my mind if I should wake her or not.  She's been asleep for an hour now.

Well if she sleeps from now until 6 am or so that is about 14 hours...has she ever done that before? My girls were both on one nap by 10/11 months, not that they napped as well at daycare!

She's done 13 before, I don't think she's ever done 14 but I've never really had her in bed early enough to try.  I looked back at my nap log and she had a similar day a few months ago and I woke her and put her down at her regular BT and that resulted in a 5:30 WU anyway so I think I'm going to leave her (even though it scares the pants off of me!)  I may nurse her before I go to bed and pop her in her sleep sack or else she'll be cold or is that asking for disaster?

When your girls didn't nap well at daycare did you just do earlier BT on those days?  We're in the middle of the 2-1 right now so not really the best time to be starting daycare and I'm not sure how to compensate for the lost sleep.

No, we really didnt have time for ebt because by the time we ate and got them ready for bed it was pretty close to normal bedtime anyways or at least within 15 minutes. My kids are slave to routine so we could never skip a quick bath and stories to get them down earlier.

Hmmm not sure on the df and all...was she easy as an infant to put back to bed after a feed?

She answered my questions all on her own by waking up half an hour ago.  She woke up without crying and is in a good mood so I don't think she's too OT so we'll aim for close to her regular BT.

I'm thinking that EBT won't be possible for us on most days either.  I'm hoping she'll just get used to it and make up for lost sleep on the weekend.

Thanks so much for your quick responses.  Congrats on the new babe! I absolutely love the name!

Thanks!

Glad she made the decision for you...easier that way. I've only ever worked part time since having kids and they always seem to make it up on days at home. Lots of sleepy vibes for later!

Thanks.  She fell asleep around 7:15 and I'm really hoping for a good night and maybe a bit of a sleep-in tomorrow (but that's for selfish reasons!).

Lol! Nothing wrong with wanting a sleep in! So far I have been blessed with kids who will sleep in a bit (of course these days 8:00 is sleeping in to me!)
