EASY sample routine for a 6 week old and when is the next change?
« on: September 02, 2013, 16:10:05 pm »
Hi All,

Just wanted to know if there was a sample routine for a 6 week old that i can follow.

Can anyone explain any issues they had transitioning to it from the previous routine (which she followed and was great at) and then when does the next change in routine occur?

Also there is a time changes coming up what the heck do we do then???

Thanks all!

Hi there, at 6 weeks a LO is still really just getting used to the world still but the routine would still be the broad 3hr EASY pattern. There will always be small changes and at this age there are lots of growth spurts which can mean LOs need to eat a lot more and some LOs sleep at lot more too (mine didn't).

I assume you're asking this as you've noticed a change recently, what is happening for you? Is your LO BF/FF? Do you want to write down your EASY so we can take a look?

Some really good tips and pointers to useful threads for the early days are here:
Starting EASY - all you need to know and more!
Plus some info about growth spurts:

And tips for dealing with time changes:

I hope that helps x

The Routine we have her on is this...

7am E
7:45 A
8:15 S
10 E
10:45A
11:15S
1 E
1:45 A
2:15 S
4 E
4:45 A
5 S
6 E
7 BATH
8 E
8:45 S
11 E
11:45 S
3:30 E
4:15 S
REPEAT

Essentially we follow the plan for a four week old but we has heard certain things should change once she becomes 6 weeks old.

Thanks for your help!

If your DD is sleeping good 1hr 30 plus naps that day looks fantastic. You only need to change things if she's giving you a sign she needs something different by sleeping less well and/or demanding more food.
