Try if he looks like he needs it, otherwise bed when he is ready for bed :)

His BT was 7:30pm (I was able to get a 30 min CN).

He struggled a bit with NW at the beginning but nothing major and slept great after the DF up until 5:00am. He was up fussing for awhile which turned into playing which again turned into fussing. I could tell he was struggling to fall back to sleep. I let him do that for over an hour and then he fell back to sleep at 6:40 and awake again at 7:00.

Just curious- is that 5:00 ish WU habitual since we were doing EBT and EWU for so long? Or is it OT still?
And do I start his first A time at the last WU time of 7:00??

I may have to watch his cues for this mornings A instead of doing the 3.5 A push since his WU is all weird...

I would start the day from 7 just because it's a better time to start the day!  Even though he didnt sleep much after 5 he was still in bed, still resting and not out playing.

I'm not sure about the 5am wake up other than it's a common time to stir, and some LOs have a harder time going back off.  Is there anything you think might be disturbing him like he's too hot or cold, teeth (again!), light in the room, etc?  Also have you tried W2S?

I'm with you on starting the day at 7:00! I'm trying to keep A low key and try for 10:30 nap!

There's nothing external going on to wake him...room is darkened, noise machine on, temp is usually good- may be a tad cool in the early am though...I threaten my husbands life if he's too loud getting ready for work ;)

He doesn't seem to be teething but who knows with that as he's always drooling, eating and chewing everything! :)

I've never tried w2s....I'm scared of it because DS gets so distracted by me; I'd hate to wake him and he see me and get all excited! I may have to give it a go though. I'll pay attention and see if he wakes at the same time tomorrow and may try it!

So, we are now at 3.5 A time for the whole day and naps have improved!
Today is completely messed up though because he took a 40 min nap in the car this morning. It'll probably be a 3 nap day now.

He is still waking up at 5:00 am ish, and resettling after awhile and waking up for the day around 6:00 or so but still seems sleepy. His BT has been about 7:30 the past few nights.

He may just need more time adjusting and will work it out on his own, but I wanted to see if you all had any suggestions on how to get more than 9.5-10hrs night sleep? If it's just developmental then I'm fine with it, I just want to make sure he's getting enough sleep at night so we don't end up in this mess again!!

His NW have definitely lessened in amount and length, but he struggles with the time shortly after bed and from about 3:00 am until WU. Is that pretty normal for this age?

Honestly, we have a 5-5:30am wakeup too...but dd2 will take some food and go back to sleep, although I am not sure she really needs the food, lol.  I think it it pretty common for them to wake around that time at this age.  I remember dd1 waking at 6 or 6:30am and being ready for the day at this age :)

Yeah, good.  We're on about 3hrs 20/25 A time now which is about right I think cos I accidentally put Jack down at 3hrs 30 this morning and he took a while to settle and then did an OT nap.  I like where we are now cos we can go out for lunch and it isn't the end of the world if he does a short nap.  I can generally resettle or do an ebt and we're fixed.  Though I don't like saying that cos as soon as I say things are going well, they go wrong!

I wanted to thank all of you who helped me through this transition....sincerely thank you each.
I could not have done this without you all and things are finally back under control and I have a happy, rested baby back :)

I only with I could repay you for what you've done.

Sure Ill be back on here soon enough with questions on the 2-1 transition...with this rapidly increasing A time, it won't be too far of from now! He may already need more than 3.5 A time and he's not even 8 months yet....eek

Yep, another one with lsn kids here too!

Glad you and the lo are back on track mandy.  See you in the 2-1 transition! (Jack did a 40 minute nap on 3hr 25 A time yesterday,  then a 1hr 25 nap on 3 hrs 20 after that and had a great night so we could be heading that way before we know it too! )
