Just replied to your post on the 3-2 transition thread about how we upped A times but just to add on the nws, I found we got nws 1-3 hours after bed if the A time before bedtime was too long. If he was under tired he took a long time to settle from night feeds or would have 1.5-2 hr night wakings. Some nights he did both,  where his A time during the day was too low but short naps all day lead to him being OT by bedtime.  Confusing eh?! An A time increase for the first nap generally fixed the long nws though,  and the ones shortly after bedtime went after a couple of days of good naps.

Thank you!! Ill head over to the 3-2 post now!

He's waking a few hours after BT and hard to resettle and then he wakes a few other times- all random but more towards 3:00am until wakeup. He's resettled himself usually then.

Naps have been better but still short so I'm hoping the A push will sort it all out eventually...

Before I really start pushing A times, can you wonderful ladies take a look at our EASY and make sure that's what I should do? Here was yesterday and then today...

Also, let me know if I should post this in the EASY forum instead of Naps.

Yesterday:
He had a long NW at 4:00am (seemed wide awake) and had to feed to get him to sleep
Woke at 6:30
E 7:00
A 2 hr 55 min
S 9:25-9:55 back to sleep at 10:10-10:40

E 11:00
A 3 hr
S 1:40-3:10 (with a short wake up in between)

E 3:15
A 3 hr 30 min
BT 6:40

Woke at 9:00pm screaming- took 30 mins to resettle
Woke multiple times between 3:00 until wake up

Today:
Woke at 6:20 ish
E 7:00
A 3 hr and 10-15 min (unsure of exact WU time)
S 9:34-10:40 (tiny wake up and resettle after 30 min)

E 11:00
A 3 hr 10 min
S 1:50-2:45 (with wake up at 30 min) He tried to put himself back to sleep after second wake up but then he gave up after 20 mins and started playing so I got him up

E 3:30
A
E 5:00
BT 5:40

The CN is finally gone, but I have no idea what to do next. A push right?

How'd your doctor visit go?  Any discomfort?

Maybe he's hungry?

All went well at appointment....so nothing I can blame it on there! I still am unsure with what to so with his reflux but its definitely died down a good bit since he stopped teething. I've tried medication for pain during naps and night sleep but doesn't seem to make a difference now that he's not teething at the moment.

I wish it were hunger...that's something I could most definitely fix. I'm assuming its all routine related and I'm just unsure now if he needs and A push or not. The 30 min waking then resettling then another 30 minute naps are so misleading and I have no idea if they are UT or OT.

We had a 30min UT nap yesterday, so it could be UT.

Have you got any sleepy cues to go on?  That's the only thing that I am able to go by right now.  DD usually does a 3hr10-3hr20min A, a 3hr30min A and a 3hr A (unless naps were rotten), but it's always different when she is going to do which A  :-\

His sleepy cues start after only being awake 2 hours in the morning so I have been ignoring them as to not cause an UT/OT loop but its not working.

It's only 3:30 am here and I'm up Becuase he's woken up so many times I lost count....

Oh dear :(

Could he be hungry at that 2hr mark?  Both my girls start yawning, etc when hungry.

We usually do solids around that time so maybe the yawning could be hunger.
He woke between 5:45-5:50 (can't remember exactly; I was so tired) and out him down for a nap at 9:00, asleep by 9:05....HOPING for a good, long nap!

If naps are lousy today, I may have to do a CN to get him caught up on sleep. Is that a bad idea??

How Is he at eating solids? You may have to start doing a top up feed after solids so he can take a decent nap.

He's pretty good with solids but its hard to tell when he's full or just disinterested...ill try topping him off before the pm nap. Thanks for the tip!!

By looking at my previous EASY I posted, does it seem like I need an A push? Or any places where I'm going wrong?? I may post it in the EASY forum and see what they think since its really not about naps in particular...

I don't know.... I don't have any experience of 30 minute nap, resettle and then another 30 minute nap.  For us, 30 minutes has always meant OT but I'd be surprised if he then did another OT nap after being resettled? Is it definitely 30 minutes, not 35 or anything?

I know you want to get out of this mess ASAP but you could just write off the next few days,  up his A time by 10 minutes and see what changes and go from that?  If it doesn't fix anything at least you'll know where you are.  If there's not no change it probably means he's OT cos if he's UT an A time increase would probably help,  even if only temporarily?  I know it's really hard doing that but I've always found the torture of not knowing whether J is OT or UT more frustrating than the short naps themselves!

What happened when you picked an A time and stuck with it for a few days?  Did things improve and what happened next?

I stuck with 3 hours A across the board for a few days and got the same as my EASY above shows. Today I did 3.15 A this am and got an hour and 10 min nap with a wake up at 30 but quicker resettle. I guess ill try 3 hrs 20 ish mins first A tomorrow and see how that goes??

Yes, sounds like a higher A time suited him better so I'd stick with 3hr 15 tomorrow.  I guess you could try 3hr 20 but if he does something different tomorrow you might not know if it's a built up response from upping his A time today or cos you increased it again the next day.  Maybe see how his night is and how he seems?  And I would try and stick to 3hrs 15 tomorrow morning no matter how bad the night is if you can, rather than lowering it again.  That's always worked for us anyway when we're trying to increase A times,  but I don't know if we're unusual in that respect?!
