Tips for getting rid of the 2-3am feed please...
« on: September 12, 2013, 16:26:46 pm »
Hi All,

We have been doing EASY with our 7 week old for nearly 2 weeks now and it's going pretty well. She seems to like the structure and is a lot happier :). The only thing we would like to change is that she wakes between 2am and 3am every morning, is this just habit?
Our rough day is as follows:
E. 2-3am
Straight back to sleep
E. 4.45-6am
Straight back to sleep after nappy change
E. 8-9am
A. 30-45mins
S. Normally naps quite well
E. 10:45-12.00
A. 30-45mins
S. Normally naps well here
E.13:30-15:00
A.30-45mins
S. Naps but never for long here
E.18:00-18:45 doesn't take a lot
A. Bath
E. finishes before bath feed.
S. 7:30 put in Moses basket for bed(goes off to sleep quite quickly)
E. 10:30-10:45 dream feed sometimes wakes just before
Wakes at between 2-3am next morning.

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated!
Thank you in advance
Jo

Maybe try cluster feeding in the late afternoon/early evening, in addition to the DF? That seemed to work well with ours, but honestly they kept that 2 or 3 am feed until 13 weeks.

Thank you for the quick reply!

We tried doing cluster feeds at 6 and 8 but she wouldn't wake for the 8pm one or take any like a dream feed either. Maybe we are just hoping for too much too soon expecting her to miss out the early morning feed already??

I honestly wouldn't expect a LO that young to go without that feed! Most LO have a night feed till at least 3/4 months, mine was about 15 weeks old x

^^^Agree. Many babies still have 2-3 NF till much later on. Every baby is different and has different needs.
