EASY routine for 4 HRS EASY with 2.25 hr A
« on: September 19, 2013, 03:29:40 am »
Hi - I am hoping I can get a suggestion on a 4 hr easy with 2.25 hr awake time  including one or two solid meals plus trying to lead into 2.5 hr A time.  I have checked the sample schedules, but not much there for this situation.  DS2 is almost 6 mths and is currently doing this:

E: 6.30
S: 8.30
A: 10 E: 10.30
S: 12.15
A:1.45 E: 2.30
S:4-4.30
E: 4.30
E:6.30
S: 7
NF: between 11-1
NF: between 3-5
(we don't DF, and sometimes there is only a feeding once, but usually twice)

We have just started solids for 1 or 2 meals a day (usually one hr after a feed), and his naps have gone crazy!!  He will wake after 12 min and cry out, can't resettle, so we pick up and he will fall right back asleep, so I lay him down and he cries out again and opens eyes and we start over.  This has gone on for 2 days and totally abnormal (it also happens at bedtime recently as well).  Is it the food (feeding small amounts of mash banana and sometime egg yolk)??  Is it his schedule?  He has also started NW - sometimes I lose track of how many, then last night we had none, just a feeding at 12.45. WEIRD stuff going on here.  Is this abnormally normal for this age?

Plus I have two late afternoon feedings at 4.30 and 6.30 - should I keep this up?

Schedule and other advice welcome......

Could be the 6 mth GS? If you feed at the NW does he take a lot?
Solids an mess up sleep as their bodies adjust. I would consider stopping the egg and maybe trying something really gentle. Like pear, pumpkin, sweet potato etc

Your routine looks good, he could probably do with a slight A bump to balance out the day ;)

His NW feeds are the same as his daytime ones, and nothing abnormal in them lately. hmmm...maybe GS - hadn't thought of that yet.

Any chance you could provide a 2.25 hr easy and a 2.5 hr easy??  The 2.25 hr EASY I found on the example link has to much A time before bed (3+ hrs), and the 2.5 example does't have enough A time between catnap and bed (1.75 hrs).

Thanks

So your wanting something like this...?
WU 6.30
E 6.30 solids 7.30
A 2hrs15
S 8.45-10.30 (or 1.5-2 hrs)
E on WU ie 10.30 solids (opt) 11.30
A 2hrs15
S 12.45-2.30 (or 1.5-2 hrs)
E on WU ie 2.30
A 2hrs30
S 5-5.30 (CN 20-30 mins)
E 5.30
A 1.5-2 hrs
BT and top up E 7.30

Or you gently push all A times out to 2.5 and the last to 2hrs45 mins and if you get good 2 hr naps you can probably ditch the CN
