Daycare and solids?
« on: September 19, 2013, 14:24:57 pm »
My LO is 7 months three weeks old.  She attends a home daycare.  She naps through her 3 pm feeding so she typically has her afternoon bottle between 3:30 and 4.

In the past week she has been dropping ounces at her 7 pm feeding.  SO my question is should I swap the afternoon bottle to afternoon solids and hope she will take a full bottle feeding at 7pm?

6:30 wake and bottle
7:30 solids but so far she isn't hungry so she doesn't eat
11 bottle
12:30 solids
3:30~4 bottle
5:15 solids
7 bottle
11 bottle

Typically she takes 5 bottles and 2 solid meals a day totaling 24-25 ounces of formula and 5-6 ounces of solids.  I weigh everything to keep count.  ;)  I plan on starting the process to remove the dreamfeed this weekend.

Thanks!

I would wean the DF first and see where you are with amounts of milk in each bottle after that rather than switch the afternoon milk to a snack just yet.  It's a just a bit early to be dropping day milk feeds and you might find that the 7pm feed goes up again once the DF is dropped.  I would wait a bit longer :)
