Hello,
I have a soon to be 3 yr old girl that was a wonderful sleeper until the transition into a big girl bed when her brother arrived 11 months ago. When she is home she will not nap but at daycare they have quiet time and she will nap 1-1 1/2 hrs. I know she is tired but out right will not nap at home. I have stuck to the same bedtime routine since birth. On days with the no nap she is in bed at 7pm and other days at 8pm. There is a gate at her door to prevent her from getting out initially but when I go bed I open it otherwise she will stand at the gate and scream and wake everyone up. She puts her self to sleep and has never required our presence. She is completely toilet trained and has a potty in her room as she will get up to use it at least once throughout the night. The problem is she still randomly walks into mommy and daddy's room either to go "pee" or nothing at all at least once a night. If it is nothing I walk her right back to her room with no conversation and she goes back to sleep. She has had a gro clock for 6 months but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Her morning wake up time is different depending on her night but is usually by 7:30am. My next step is to keep the gate shut all night and hope for the best. I am returning to work in a week after being on a 1 yr maternity leave and hoping a daytime routine will help too! If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.
Thank you.
