10.5 month old doesnt want to eat breakfast
« on: September 30, 2013, 07:40:06 am »
Hi.
My daughter is 10.5 months old. up til about a month ago she loved to eat (bottle and solids). About a month ago she started getting fussy. what she would eat one day she would refuse to eat the next day..
lately she's been refusing breakfast. this is her schedule :

7:00-7:30ish (wake up)- bottle- 180 ml (about 6 oz)
9:00- breakfast- solids
12:30-1:00ish- lunch solids
2:00ish- bottle- 180 ml (6 oz)
5:30-6:00- supper- solids
7:30- bottle- 180 ml (6 oz)

*sometimes i give her a cracker when she wakes up from her afternoon nap at 4ish.

for the past 2 weeks or so she just dosent want to eat anything i offer her at 9 am. she'll take a few nibbles and that's it. she doesnt eat anything else until lunchtime. she isnt complaining that she is hungry eather.. she goes down for a morning nap and when she wakes up she plays nicely with her toys, or i take her out.  i get the feeling that if i were to skip the 9am feeding she wouldnt even notice.

should i give her less milk in the morning- 120 ml ( 4 oz)?

thanks!!

Hi :) Welcome to BW!

Milk should still be her main nutritional source, up until around 12 months solids are still just for fun and exploring tastes/textures.

This is a common age for things to go a bit off with solids, there is some info here that may be helpful to you: Spoon Refusal and Finger Food Tips

I wouldnt cut milk at this stage.  My DD1 was a huge breakfast eater...cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit.  My DD2 was not fussed at all.  She ate enough the rest of the day to do her though.

Finger foods like toast or pancakes went down better than cereal for her.

Wouldnt worry too much at all.
