Help with call backs at bed times.
« on: October 08, 2013, 15:58:53 pm »
Since my LO turned 2 we've had a few probs on + off with her sleep.
The latest is her calling us back at bedtime + waking + shouting for us at night.
she had a music/ light projector attached to her cot + would always settle herself to sleep with it anytime but then recently she seemed to be messing with it + the light seemed to OS for her to sleep so we've taken it off her cot. We did have shouting at night a few times before taking it away like requesting for twinkle twinkle again which is the first song which made me think she was just playing on it.
Since taking it dwn we put her to bed,put music on + leave room. The music goes off after 10 mins so then she shouts us again. Last week when we took it off most nights we only went back in once then she was asleep but then Sunday night after I had gone in 3 rd time told her if she shouted again I would take it,she did shout again so I left her a bit then went in settled her dwn + took it + she just calmly said night + went to sleep! Same last night + was calm when we took it + went to sleep. Now I'm wondering whether she's just playing around seeing what she can get away with. I was worried taking music away thinking she needed it to sleep but she clearly doesn't!
Sorry for the essay just puzzled what to do for the best coz never had call backs at night before + want to get it sorted quick coz she'll be going in a toddler bed soon so I guess its gna be harder.x

We had what seemed like a SR just before 2y that then carried over for a couple of months. We've never had music or a light projector so TBH I have no idea what  you can do about those things but re the call backs - we had very similar. R was in  BGB and so would get out. It was tough bit  I simply had to walk her back, put her into bed and do WI/WO/ Some nights the BT shenanigans were beyond a joke. She behaved like I was putting in a bed of fire not a nice cosy bed that shes happily slept in since she was 5 months old. It was hard because save fr the 18SR we never have had any real issues re: R's sleep - just the usual run of the mill stuff. So what to do? Decide when nap time is and when BT is and stick with it.
