I'm not sure how to ask this question.

Regarding the 45 min intruder...

How much time from the intruder to the time my LO falls asleep again is "allowed" to lapse before my LO starts over again in the light sleep?

At times it takes 20-30 min for that transition to happen but is my LO starting over then?  Or is he entering his restorative sleep phase?

Hope it makes sense... thanks!

With God all things are possible!

I think I know what you mean but don't know the answer really!  I believe most LOs go into a deep sleep about 20 minutes after going to sleep. Jack starts stirring again after 33/34 minutes and does until he's been asleep about an hour or 65 minutes so I'd guess from observation that it's about 20 minutes to go into a deep sleep and then around 10 minutes of deep sleep before they start coming back into a lighter sleep up til 45 minutes,  then another 20 minutes to get back into a deep sleep again?

No idea if that's right or not,  just what I see with jack!

I think I know what you mean too :P... I've googled baby's sleep cycle and found this:

0-10mins - starting to fall asleep
10-20mins - getting deeper into sleep
20-30mins - deep sleep/heavily asleep
30-40mins - coming out of deep sleep
40-50mins - light sleep/easy to wake up
and then the cycle continues again

So in reality your LO is getting some deep sleep already in the 1st part of sleep cycle but would be better rested if he put himself back to sleep for another sleep cycle...

That's how I understand it anyway :)
