Early wakings, 17mo.
« on: October 21, 2013, 08:07:53 am »
Hi,
After some advice please, we've been on a good schedule for a few months of
Wu 7am
Nap 12 for 1.5/2 hours
Bed 7.30pm

So for the last few mornings she's been waking earlier & earlier and it's got to a 5.20 wake up.

I always put her down for a nap 5hrs after she wakes up but does this need a tweek? What's the right A time for her age?

Any advice would be appreciated,
Thanks x

Hi!

Below is a link re: other toddlers typical days that might be worth a look....

What does your toddlers day look like?

And this one re: average A time....

Average A times- BOOKMARK ME!

Re: the Ew, are you napping at the same time or earlier?

With the EW and your LOs behaviour would you say that she is UT or OT?

Thanks for the link, looks like children of her age are doing 5 1/2 hrs A time?

When she wakes early I put her down for a nap early, usually 5/5.5 hrs after she's woken up. She gets really tired & grumpy by then.

Thanks

I suppose then the EW could be due to OT. It might be worth Illini the nap forward and doing EBT for a free days to allow your LO to catch up so you can get back on track

Hi again,
Right I've been putting her to bed at about 6.30 for the past few days and she's been waking at about 5/5.30 still?

I've brought her nap forward to about 10.30 and she has been sleeping for 1.5/2 hrs.

This morning & yesterday was 4.30 WU but managed to keep her in bed till 6ish?

Really want her sleeping normally again seems like she ps missing out on lots of sleep, clocks changing right when she's ew doesn't help either!

Any ideas of what to do?
Thanks x

Hi!

Can you post the last 3 days so we can take a look?

Also - the usual questions - any sign of teeth? Any  illness and were you affected by thee clocks changing?

No more teeth coming through, she did have a cold but seems it have gotten over that now.
We were affected by clock change, she was waking early before the change but now it's even earlier

Last three days have gone

WU 4.30 gave her some milk & she went back to sleep till 6.30 when I got her up
Nap 11.30-1
Bed 6.30

WU 5 managed to keep her in bed till 6
Nap 10.30-12.30
Bed 6.30

WU 5.30 stayed in bed till 6
Nap 11-12.30
Bed bed 6.30

Today WU 4.30 wouldn't settle so gave her some milk think she went back to sleep got up at 6.30

Don't want to get in the habit of her waking early to have milk either tho but wonder if she's hungry because it settles her.
She's having 3 decent meals & snacks?
She wakes calling for mummy and crys if left for too long, once she's up she seems happy and only seems tired by the about 6.30ish after bath.
