Hey Happy, I really think the pumping might not be doing you any favours right now.  I'm sure Amanda and Shiv can offer better advice but I'm pretty convinced that my commitment to pumping for LO1 was part of my problem with mastitis (didn't do it for LO2 and, hey, not mastitis).  I'm not saying that no one should ever pump, at all. It's a really useful tool in the mothering toolkit.  Just maybe to lay off for now, til things stabilise a bit.  Like I say, our resident experts will probably have a better idea, just a feeling of mine.

Hugs.

Oh I hear you, one of the reasons I didn't get started with LO2 was I couldn't figure out when on earth I could do it!!

Hope you're feeling tons better, my dear.

Might be out on a limb, but are your bras properly fitted?  That can contribute to blockages and discomfort

The pain in your armpit could be another blocked duct :(  But you also have lymphnodes in your armpits, so it could be sore from trying to deal with the infection.  Is there a lump where it is sore?

If they fit well I'd get one back on. The girls tend to require the additional support during BF.
Did you get properly measured and fitted?

Obviously I have no idea how big you are but it might be worth considering getting measured up properly to make sure you're gettinggood support qand there's nothing digging in or pinching anywhere as that can contribute to blockages.

Definitely - consider this a kick up the butt to arrange it! Yes, it may mean getting someone to help - but it would be less work for them than helping if you are ill again.

Happy, are you anywhere near a SHAWS ? I found them better than Debenhams for fitting for nursing bra...their selection was crap (only choice from 2 - although, luckily, they are among the couple of nursing bras I happen to like BRAVADA, I think). However, Debenhams "fitted" me & i threw out those bras as they were less-than-useless.
Definitely try to make it a priority....

Do you have anything like the NCT (National Childbirth Trust) in Ireland?  They offer bra fitting service sometimes.
