when i pumped after feeding this ev,i got next to
nothing..?

This is what happened to me because I had so many blocked ducts, it ALL got trapped in there.  I think with dd2 it took 2-3 days on abx for the blockages to start to clear, so be patient it will clear.  Has your temp gone down?  If you take the lump out of the mix, are you feeling better?  I could be patient with the lumps because I was feeling better so I knew the antibiotics were working.

Warm compresses prior to feeding/pumping and massage the lumps while you feed/pump.  Have you got good IRL support anywhere -- a LC, hospital feeding group, LLL, anything?

Totally agree, massage them lumps out if at all possible while feeding or pumping.

my LC is superwoman!but she is away on hols at the mo.
i do feel so much more human today,if im ignoring the
sore boob.ive tried to massage, but the lump is more like
a large half-melon,rather than a grape or two,kwim?
so i cant really feel a lump to massage out,the way i have
done before at other times,if that makes sense.
im also v unsure how much milk DD is getting from
that side.i wish boobs were see-through sometimes!
i have great family support,so im doing lots of resting btw.
thank you all so much for holding my hand through this
latest drama.xox

Happy please take ibuprofen/nurofen max strength every 8hrs around the clock and d warm compress on the area before EVERY singe feed and cold as you can after. This will help the mass go down in size. It may very well be lots of little ducts blocked.

Ugh...I remember it too well.
When u back at docs/Phn for check up?

What shivi said ^^^
If it's still really lumpy, I would consider getting myself back to the Dr just in case.  I never had lumps with mastitis, so can't give any BTDT, but I'm sure something the size you're describing isn't good :-\

Hugs hun.  The lump sounds a lot like what I had.  I discovered it was caused by lots of blocked ducts closer to the nipple rather than around where the lump actually was.  Massage between where the lump was and the nipple helped more than actually massaging immediately around the lump.

Ibuprofen in all its forms is ABSOLUTely safe while being as long as you don't go over the max dose in 24 hrs. You and your breast need it now. Don't worry. I took even stronger than nurofen, it's super strength cousin ketoprofen while bf ing and all was well xxx

If you have those gel packs then as long as you can stand them....I used to use ice packs hot and cold in a muslin so I'd just pop them into my bra after a feed and keep them there.

I had huge issues on one side, particularly with Emma. Had to keep a special eye on that side. Never got to full blown mastitis again after first episode though as I knew what to do in advance....hot before, cold after, ibuprofen every 8 hrs and rest as well as feeding as much and n as many different positions as possible xxx

Have you got straight ibuprofen/nurofen or the plus stuff?  The plus has caffeine and whatnot in it, so probably not best when BF, but like shivi said, straight ibuprofen is ok (they have to put cautions on the packaging just in case, but all the safe medication lists for BF state ibuprofen is ok). http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/sis/search/f?./temp/~vD7Uba:1 :-*

I was put on either ibuprofen or naproxen all 3 times after giving birth and while bf with no issues.
