My LO's eating habits...
« on: November 07, 2013, 08:04:47 am »
Hi everyone, I need some advice about my daughter's eating habits. She is 12 months old, and this is her schedule:

7:30-8:30ish- wake up and bottle (180 ml)
9:30-10:00- breakfast: yogurt/ fruit/ cereal...
10:00-10:30ish- morning nap
12:30-13:30- lunch: chicken/ noodles/ omelet/ cooked veg...
2:00- 2:30ish- bottle (180 ml) and then down for a nap
5:30-6:00- supper (like lunch)
7:30-7:45- bottle and to bed.

she doesn't eat a lot of breakfast. i'm assuming it's because she had a bottle about an hour before, but i'm not ready to give up her morning bottle. my real problem is supper. she doesn't eat any snacks between her afternoon bottle and supper and she should be really hungry, but she isn't! I get the feeling that if I were to skip supper she would have no problem waiting until her bottle at 7:30!
what should I do? is this normal? I looked at what others wrote, and I see they give their kids snacks in between in addition to their meals.. could it be she's not eating enough??

Hi just to pop on and post, im not sure what anyone else thinks but by 12 months lo's are usually only taking 2 milk bottles, morning and before bed. It might be a good idea to tey dropping that afternoon bottle, which will make her more hungry for her evening meal. I think she is not hungry rnough for her evening meal because if that afternoon bottle.

If you cant take it straight out, try dropping by an oz over a couple of days, then another oz and so on.

What do you think?

If she's eating well at breakfast and lunch I wouldn't worry at all.

hi Jodes,
good idea.. i'll try that.. i'm flying with her to the states in a month and am waiting until I get back to give up the afternoon bottle, since I was told it might help with the jet lag... but maybe giving her less in the afternoon will help- thanks!

Ah yes probably a good idea to stick with norm until you get back! Could also use a bottle as comfort on the plane. Good luck!
