tips for getting decent night feeds
« on: November 09, 2013, 08:38:50 am »
DD has a habit of snacking during the night ::)
sometimes we get 90mins between,sometimes3-4hrs.
any tips on how to make the feeds less snacky?!
im waking to feed during the day, every 3hrs&she feeds
well then.
i've tried stripping, nappy, stroking but she wont suck for
more than a few mins, only to wake again an hr later to
do it all again ::)
do i just suck it up&be glad it's not half-hourly?!

Have you tried just resettling her without feeding if she wakes an hour later? Does she take a dummy?

I used to feed then when he was dropping off I would burp and change the nappy and then put back on the same breast.

then it all goes wonky!half a feed at 5.45pm&another bit
at 6.15pm-she is dozing on me now.
i had been hoping to do a 6.30pm&8.30pm feed,&
possibly a DF,but not sure where we are now!and dreading
another night of getting up for a 3min feed. :-\

Is she crying to be fed as soon as she wakes? Can you leave her to see if she resettled if she isn't crying or at least so she is more awake?

Elliotte would never wake for a df...and now that she doesnt feed at night I notice she stirs a lot and puts herself back to sleep, but the way she flops around in her bassinet you would think she is waking (I tried to plug her soother in last night at that point and she kept turning away so I just left her and she eventually went back into a more sound sleep).

5.05am!yay!
it took DH well over an hour to settle her after the
last feed,so maybe that's why im only feeding now?

(sucked the soother once but that was it.guessed she
was hungry anyway cause it'd been 3.5hrs.
