I would still keep that afternoon A at 3hr15 i would t reduce it anymore even though it looks like a OT nap.  Thats not too bad. What time did she wake then from the second nap? If be tempted to pd at 3hr 15/30 for bed just to prevent OT build up as its less sleep than she usually has isnt it xx

Yes the afternoon A was 3hrs20, she took 10mins to fall asleep and woke up at 3:00. So maybe 6:30 BT then. That would make it her regular A unless I get her to S at 6:15 for bed. See on don't get it wh is she OT?

She might not be its just with stuggling to get through that first sleep cycle at 30 mins is an indicator thats she is OT. But this can also happen if she is feeling under the weather or teething. So it could be that aswell. What happened when you capped that AM nap at 1hr instead of 45 min? It could be due to the long A followed by short nap that causing OT for the second nap but i still think that you should push through it and keep that PM nap at 3hr15 after the 45 min nap as i think she does need more A for that pm nap and eventually she will get the hang of it & be able to deal with it ok if that makes sense.

I think that pm nap needs to be no earlier than 1.30pm so that you can get a good bedtime, if she does 1.5 hrs at 1.30-3 then bedtime can be at 6.30. Obviously if she goes 1.30pm- 3.15 bed can be 6.45, etc. i wonder if you capped AM at 1hr instead of 45 min, but then gave an extra 15 min for the PM nap A time (hoping she can handle an extra 15 min A because of a slightly longer nap in the AM) then that could spread the naps and A out better. Eg, wu 5.45, nap 1 9.30-10.30, nap 2 at 1.45/2-3.30, then you can get bedtime to 7pm. The extra A time in the aft & later BT may help with the EWU. Would that work, i cant remember what you said about 1hr AM nap xx

As far as I remember she was waking early or refusing pm nap. I have to dig in my notes to see what happened. But you might be right. Maybe I should try 1hr AM nap again and 3hrs30mins afternoon A. I don't think we ever got it right with her. It's always good for few days but then OT creeps in and we are back to square one.

P.s. Although DH just said that she was waking earlier with a 1hr AM nap. What if I cut morning A from 3hrs45mins to 3hrs30mins and still keep 45mins Am nap

I think maybe I will give 1hr AM nap another try and then 3hrs30mins A. I just hope she doesn't wake too early tomorrow so there is no need for longer then usual morning A.

You will get there just need to try things out! She doesnt do too bad though, just be good if you could get an 11hr night from 7pm-6am.

I think a shorter A in the AM with a 45min nap is a good idea, aswell. Worth a try xx

I'll try 1hr AM nap and 3hrs30m second A for few days and see how that goes. What should I do if I have EWU tomorrow again , which I think she will be us that's what usually happens. Still stick with 3hrs45mins morning A or extend it to reasonable time for AM nap? Also I will probably try w2s at 3:30 instead of 4 since she will probably will have an EWU.

Hi, here is an update. So I went it to w2s at 3:30 and before I even got to DD she woke up and started crying. So I left hoping maybe she will fall back asleep but she didn't. She refused her solids dinner so I figured she would be hungry so I fed her and placed awake in the crib. She moved around for 10mins and then S at 3:55 but wasn't in a deep sleep. At 4:15 she woke up crying so I gave her Panadol and fed her again( probably not the best choice? But she ate a bit longer this time) and she was back in the crib at 4:33 then S at 4:40. She woke up for the day at 6:35!!! Now I'm not sure if I made a mistake by feeding her the first or the second time or both??

Today I'm aming for something like this
WU 6:35, S 10:15 for 1hr, WU 11:15, S at 2:30/2:45, now here I'm not sure if I should let her S for 1.5hrs or 1hr45mins since she is getting extra 15mins in the AM but she is tired?? And then depending on the length of PM nap BT is 3hrs30mins after
Thanks ladies!!!

Great AMJ! I dont know about night feeds tbh, it could be teeth with her crying but dropping back off after pain releif. Not sure there!

Yea the day planned looks good. If you pd at 2.30/2.45 (depending on when she seems sleepy) then if wake up at 4 (no later) and then bed 7.15/7.30?

Xx

What about if she falls asleep at 2:45 then WU at 4:15 and BT at 7:45, or it's too late?

Yeah I think I will thanks. She didn't really show any signs of being tired before the PM nap and was very playful, we were reading books, but then I took her in my arms and she was asking for breast. Maybe that's her new sign? So I got her to S ASAP and she was in the crib at 2:30. She cried before she fell asleep at 2:40 and then woke up and cried at 35mins of S but resettled on her own and still sleeping. I guess she was still OT and needed only 3hrs15mins in the afternoon. I will wake her at 4:15. I'll stick with this schedule for few days and maybe she will settle into it. Thank agan!!
