Returning to Work.....
« on: December 13, 2013, 04:58:18 am »
I am returning to work soon & weighing my options to continue to BF my son & how best to go about it.

He is 13 months old & I have just reduced to three feeds a day from four.  Typically I will feed him when he wakes, & after each of his two naps (the first nap is the one that i've dropped) & then at bedtime.
I will be returning to work part time but for long days so I'm trying to figure out the best way to maintain my supply & keep him on BM.  I have a supply of frozen milk which I can send to daycare with him, but I'm also considering introducing cow's milk to supplement should he need it.

The other part I'm considering is my comfort.....I know I'll have to pump while I'm at work.  I'm fullest first thing in the morning as he sleeps through the night now (finally!).  Should I pump in the morning before I head to work, or do I dare try to implement a 'dream feed'.  This would be at 4:30am when I get up.

Any feedback, opinions or ideas would be great.  Thank you :)

If he is sttn I would not want to mess with that and just pump first thing! In your shoes I would probably intro cow milk just in case (bit I dont get much from pumping!).
