You may have to play around with a few things like teat size until she settles - but I think persistence is also key! Are you offering every day?

We totally failed with DS, and I felt so so trapped by not being able to just go off for a few hours and have a break/ride my horse etc. If I could do it all again I would offer a bottle daily, and not worry whether it was EBM or formula in there. I found pumping to then give a bottle was the last straw for me!

Agree with MJN over teat size, although 1 or variflow should be fine for DD's age. A few tricks that work for us are tapping the bottom of the bottle gently while in A's mouth wakes him up to take more. Also pulling the teat slightly out of his mouth slowly, he then sucks it back in and takes more milk.

Is she falling asleep or just not interested? Sorry if you said that in your post! If sleepy tickling hands and feet also work for us or gently blowing on her face. HTHs.

Happy, I'm watching in on how You get on today.
We HAD cracked the bottle with Little Man, but then I wasn't able to continue giving him the daily bottle & he has now decided that he doesn't like it again. He just lets the teat sit in his mouth - doesn't suck it - & often spits out whatever manages to dribble into his mouth   ??? Although he'll start calm - eventually it gets so he is upset.  :'(
If you have success again today  with faster teat, I might give it a try tom.
Fingers crossed for you.

Oh yay! Good for you - another successful day  :) you'll have it cracked if she does it again for you tomorrow...3 was always the magic number with getting a change in something with my son (whether it was naps, feeds, whatever). Well done baby!! Great girl  ;D
I bought a set of faster flow teats, variflow teats and also a different type of bottle to try (gonna try that one this evening and see how we go).

Woop-woop!!! Little Man would've taken the inside if the bottle and all just there  ;DNit sure which made me happier - that he took the bottle, or that I didn't have to dump out more of my milk cos he wouldn't take it!!! Hoping the new bottles are the "trick". If we can day the 3 day hat-trick (of just a couple of oz in a bottle) I'll be delighted.  :) :)

Ooh, yeah!!!! *high fives*  :D
HAT-TRICK!!! Score  ;D  ;D  ;D
Must keep it up now for next few days and then feel I'll be ok to reduce it to a bottle every 3/4 days.  I'm happy out BFing, but just want the option to be away for more than 4 hours during the day - or for the likes of the situation when my FIL had his accident and I just HAD to leave right there and then.   (Thank god, he'd been ok on bottle at that point) At least my child can be fed in my absence...
I'll have to get back to doing a regular, daily pump session to build my stash...god, I REALY dislike pumping  :P and have so much respect for ladies that exclusively pump. Wow, SUCH hard work.
