Weaning MOTN bottle
« on: January 14, 2014, 13:45:49 pm »
So my 13mo is still taking a MOTN bottle and Im going to try to take her off it.

Would I be better dropping the ounces until shes down to one or nothing or would I be better off just reducing the amount of formula in it gradually until its practically water? Before she used to take a full 6oz in the night time, Ive gotten it down to 4oz (although she would drink more if it was there)... Should I just dilute it more and more...?

What is the best and kindest way to do this?

I would reduce the oz - 1oz every 3 nights. By reducing the oz you get her tummy used to  having less in it, if you dilute she is still getting a tummy full of liquid. When you get down to 1oz just offer a sip of water if she wakes and resettle!

Good luck!

Thanks Lolly - I hope its not the company and a cuddle shes waking for!!! Although even at 3oz last night she would have drank a lot more. Lets see how it goes! Thanks a million!
