How many OZ is a normal size bottle for a 6 week old?

I am a doula for a 6 week old baby with bad reflux.  He was put on a 2 oz every 2 hour schedule from his doctor and We are trying to extend and increase his feeds now that he is on meds.  So I am working on his routine.  is it every bottle should be 4oz every 3 hours at this age?

My two were both taking 4-5oz at this age and lasting 3 hours. Is it formula or breast milk in the bottles - are they thickening at all?

It is 1/2 formula, 1/2 breast milk for about 1/2 the feeds.  The other feeds are all formula.  They just switched his formula from emfamil AR to gentlease.  I suspect they may be putting him back on the AR if his days continue like today.

What is his poop like - could he be milk protein intolerant? Have they thought about trying a hypoallergenic formula rather than the reflux formula?

His poop is normal.  The reflux meds are working pretty well.  They changed his dose to twice a day.  I haven't been in all week and will be going back next week and will see how things are going.

My 6 week old is refluxy, too, and on AR.  He eats way more than a normal baby... the doctor said that most do eat about 4 oz. every three hours at that age.  Mine takes 6 oz. and probably would take more occasionally.  4 oz.  sounds normal.  If he cries a lot and drains every bottle, maybe try another oz. and see what happens?

As a side note, apparently week 6 is a growth spurt week, so expect 3 or so days of more crying, more eating, and then a few days of nothing but sleeping...
