Hi!

I agree with Becky - you need to stick wth it despite the OT. It's the only way to set their  clocks as Becky says - it worked for us. The other thing that comes to mind is introducing a gro-clock or something similiar. We did around this age after the 2y old sleep craziness and it really helped with enforcing the WU iykwim. Maybe worth a shot? X

Ok thanks ladies. Last night wasnt too bad. I switched the monitor off and the only time she cried i had to rs, the rest she managed herself....wu was on and off btwn 5.45-6.30 :-/

Thanks Hena- I did tell her a few days ago that when the light on her monitor comes on its time to wu (i can control it feom parent unit). She does seem to get the concept. I put it on at 7 this am and she did tell me light was on so hopefullt that will help too!

Things seem a little better today. Shes falling asleep for 1 regardless of wu (although it has been pre 6.30 so prob tired enough from longer am a) and bt wasnt too bad either

Wu 5.45/6.30
nap 12.50-2.15
Bt 6.45 (pd 6.20)

i must say it was nice not stressing about what time she woke in the.morning!

Couple of.questions...

Do you wake in the morning to preserve 1pm nap or will her body clock mean she will sleep anyway?
whilst im setting her body clock do i wake in morning and from nap?
Once body clock is set will she go back to falling asleep within 5-10 mins? How did your los do?

Im sceptical set times will work with dd shes so stubborn but im hopeful and desperate enough to try!

Personally I do WU in the mornings if needs be (as much as it pains me to) to save the day and from nap to preserve BT. On the odd occasion where I've not woken R in the morning I do a later and shorter nap to preserve BT - make sense?

And yes, once R was set she went back to falling asleep
Within about 15m max.

Hth xx

Celebrated too soon. Pd for nap at 12.50 and shes still awake. She has a bit of a cold so that prob has something to do with it. Or nothing. I dont know anymore.

Im considering dropping the nap ct. Shes already ot so she will just crash and get used to it at some point wont she similar to the set times??!

No.  Don't do it.  :-* I know it's stressful Aishi but she's always been HSN, only just 2yo would be v early to drop the nap and I think it would come crashing down majorly.  You're only on day 3-4 of set naps hun, she's likely still working things out. Give it time xx

If she doesn't nap I would do 5.30/6pm.  She will be OT but she's going to be regardless if she doesn't nap.  I would think 4pm BT would get you into a very messy place indeed with EWs.....

For nap if she falls asleep by 3 I would maybe let her have an hour, get her up and then do 6.30pm BT (ie your early 'set' bedtime).

There's no right answer though on days like these (we've had a few ::) ) so if your mummy instinct tells you something differently you know her far better than we do :-* If you're giving set naps a fair go though you would need to keep sticking with the times tomorrow.  (((Hugs))) xx

I agree with Katherine. IMHO a 4pm BT is not going to be the best idea and like Katherine says she will be OT anyway - you have more chance of getting her back to sleep in the am if it is early on a 6pm BT than a 4pm I would think....

I agree hon. On days where naps haven't happened I do a 6pm BT - r as you know borders on being hsn and will from 6pm (as OT as she is) will sleep at least 12h if not 13h sometime longer. And you know your LO does/ can tack on. Despite R not handling OT well at all (understatement of the year!!) I wouldn't do a 4pm BT - if I did I'd be at a total loss as to what to DM the following day.
