7 months old catnapping during the day
« on: January 21, 2014, 16:22:04 pm »
hello Mums, I need any advise please. My angle is 7 months now and she is catnapping during the day 4 times of 20-30 min each time. I don't know how I can make her sleep longer. At night she sleeps 10-12 hours but during the day is the problem of not being able to sleep long. Any suggestions please?

Can you write out your typical day please in terms of when she eats and sleeps. Thanks

She wakes up around 7-7:30, having milk, playing until 9:30, then she has her first morning sleep around 9:45/10 for 20-30 min, eats after her nap, usually fool asleep around 12ish for another 20-30min, eats at 1:30/2. sleep 30-45min, another feed is around5, than sleep again 20 min. feed at 7, bed around 7:30/8pm. sleeps all night through (sometimes wakes for 20 min during night).

Hi there and welcome

How does she fall asleep? Is she happy when she wakes?

At 7 months, most start to drop (if not already dropped) the catnap and ideally you want 2x 1.5hr naps. If your baby is used to being rocked to sleep or falls asleep with other help, it could be an issue with not being able to fall back asleep. If not, it could be that she needs more A time to be tired enough to sleep longer - around 3hrs is about the average but some need more.
