Do you count A time from when they've been up since in crib? He's been up since 610 am just looking Around talking a little. Was hoping he'd fall back asleep but it's already been 35 min. Guess he will b ready for first nap at 940! Yikes EBT for us again tonight. I hope one day he can stay awake past 645 pm!

It seems looking back that he does do this frequently where he wakes around 6/615 he's up for at least 30 min and falls back for 30 min and then the first nap is tricky and I might put him down 3 hrs 15 ftom when he actually gets up and out of crib he tends to give me a first 30 min nap. Could this be ot being that he was technically up earlier. Today he was awaje at 610 fell back at 645 and is still asleep at 710

So he woke at 720 and I put him down for nap at 1040 and he's up 30 min later?! Ugh I wonder if it has something to do with when he wakes early and falls back to sleep

Following along, no advice but Julia does this too. I don't count that time that they are awake because I figure it is quiet and dark

I've just recently upped his A time to 3 hrs 15 min then it takes him 5 min to fall asleep so it's average 3 hrs 20 mins. But when he woke at 610 he was up until 640 befire fallibg back asleep until 720 so I just did 3 hrs 20 mins from when he woke and he always does a long morning nap. His second nap I put him down at 240 3 hrs 25/30 min and I got another 35 min nap but he woke crying which he never does. I feel like it's all a big crap shoot and you just never know why lol. Thanks for the tips

I find that he wakes aroubd 610 then falls back aroubd 645 and sleeps sometimes until 730!! I find myself making noise to try to wake him so that our day isn't thrown off by late wake time. Is that crazy? Lol

What I'm finding is if he wakes at 730 and eats he's due again to eat at 1130 but his A time can be up to 3.5 hours so he's not waking until 1230 so he doesn't eat again until 1230 and then same problem with afternoon nap it won't be until 345-4 which is late for him to nap and then he's late to eat again. The next bottle won't be until 430 and there's no way he makes it until 730 to eat again befire bed. Any suggestions ? Thanks

This was about the age where we stopped timing feeds (7-8 ish months). They had a morning and bedtime bottle, one before first nap and another in the afternoon plus 2 solids meals at first and then 3, so there was never a long stretch between food of some sort! Eventually when they took 8oz per bottle we went to 3 bottle but I can't remember if we dropped the mid morning one or the afternoon one - way too long since it happened!

Help I'm getting 30 minutes first nap of the day!! We are doing an average of three hours 15 to 20 minutes a time and when I put him into crib he falls asleep almost immediately but then wakes in 30 minutes ready to go happy!!

Do I need to increase a time? Today I got a 30 min nap and a 40-45min nap and at bedtime he was awake a while in crib. He did take more formula today and was hungrier than usual.

Is the first nap exactly 30 mins?  Might be a silly question but a few mins either way seems to make a difference.  Usually 30 mins exactly is OT and some babies just wake happy regardless (DD always used to EW completely happy when exhausted - took me a while to work out she was just delirious!!), but we had a lot of naps that were closer to 37 mins that were UT.

It was 30 min on the dot! It was after a 3 hr 20 min A time which he's done before. But the second one that was 45 min I've never gotten a 45 min nap ! What's that usually ot or ut? It was with 3 hrs 15 min a time which might have been too much A time with that first short nap ? Each time he woke up he sucked down his entire bottle. I'm thinking he was hungry maybe a growth spurt so I started a 3rd meal of solids.

The other thing to consider is overstimulation. My daughter started doing 30 min naps when I was reading to her during winddown... So I've eliminated that from our winddown routine.

2.5 hrs A after a 30 min nap seems to work well.

We are having a funky day too. Our first A time was 3 hrs but then 20min of playing and 38 min nap, and wide awake/ no more sleep.
Started to get fussy close to the 2.5 hr mark but again now she is playing.
