Missed afternoon nap - what time is bedtime then? 9 1/2 mth old
« on: January 23, 2014, 23:21:26 pm »
Hi
DS2 missed his afternoon nap today:(  What time should his bedtime be to compensate from OT?

EASY:
WU 6.15/6.30
Nap: 10-11.30
Nap: 2.45-3.30 (refused to take)
BT: 6.45/7

We are now at 4.20 and I have to go pick up DS1 and DS2 will likely fall asleep in car.  If he does fall asleep in car for 30 min then what time BT?  If he doesn't fall asleep, what time BT?

Lost on this one, as it has never happened before....any advice welcome.

Thanks!

I would cross your fingers for a CN, give 30 mins and BT 2-2.5 hrs later.he may need more but unlikely.
If the CN is refused then 6pm BT at the latest and hope he tacks on. I could do 5.30 BT in my house but some people find it too early.

Your prob in the 2-1 once you get a good night try pushing the am A or PM A and capping one nap ;) x

I've done as early as 4.30pm once but in general I do between 5-5.30pm too if that was the case with us. Mine is pretty good at tacking on.

He CNed in car, and went to bed 2 hrs later.  Phew....glad that worked and thanks for advice.

I have already capped naps at 1.5 hrs and 45 min (and just  yesterday started capping 45 min nap at 30 min)  So know that I should push the A: should I be pushing the A first thing in the morn before his long nap? Keep long nap at 1.30 and keep shrinking the CN?  If I push out AM A to 4 HRs, then how long should the A be after am nap?

I would probably keep the first A where it is, especially if he's taking a good morning nap and push the 2nd A and shorten the catnap

Thanks!

This has fueled a few more questions:
If they can stay up 4 hrs in AM, then 1.5 hrs nap, then 4 hrs in aft, how big is the catnap?  20 min? 10 min?  Still 30 min?
At what point does the first nap start going past 1.5 hrs?
How much AM A time until they have a long nap, and maybe make it through until EBT?

We are presently here (3.50 A time; capped 1.5 hrs nap and capped 30 min CN):
WU: 6.15
Nap: 10.05-11.35
Nap: 3.05-3.35
BT: 7.15
