So DD is 12 months and 2 wks and shes been on 1 BF for about 2 weeks now, ive been giving her formula as she lost weight and the doc recommended but I've still been giving her the last feed before bed,it really was a comfort thing as she has a full sippy before the bath!! And tonight i just decided to see if she would go down without it, and guess what, she did!!! The only tears were mine :'( all of a sudden i feel terrible,ive been thinking of stopping for a while and it just seems so sudden and final, like shes grown up too quickly and wont need me now  :'( i know thats silly but you know!
I just had to share as im sat on my own with no one to share this with, and i feel it needs to be shared!!

You might find she wants a feed tomorrow, so it might not be the end, but you've done a brilliant job to get to where you are now, so give yourself a huge pat on the back for that :-*

Hugs. Ds decided he was done with bf at about a year, even though I wasn't! I was sad about it but then my mom said that it's really nice that he have it up on his own. Many kids find it really difficult to let go of it. It made me feel a lot better. Now the shoe is on the other foot. Dd is 2 and showing no signs of wanting to quit...but I am! Lol. I'm hoping over the next few months we can slowly get rid of it in a way that is easy for her. She loves it so much though I just don't know if there is a way. It was nice that there were no tears over it for ds and that it was his choice.

Thanks for the support ladies,  it helps :) she didn't want a feed tonight either, obviously I'm super happy she's handling it so well but yep,  the end of a chapter!   :'(

Great advice.

You've done so so well to bf for a year!  Such a brilliant start for your LO.  Be proud of yourself.  I totally get the mixed feelings though.

Inspriation! I hope to be able to make it to a year too! Even now, feeds are being restricted and I feel like I'm losing my special time with my little guy and he's only 6 months.  :'(

Aww I had the same thing a month ago. C stopped at 15 months and I was super sad - tomorrow marks one month since he had his last 'boobies'

One year is an incredible achievement - well done :)
