13 month old up every hour at night....help?
« on: January 30, 2014, 18:48:21 pm »
Hello, I am new to the group and in desperate need of some advice to help keep my little man asleep at night. I am just exhausted. I have twin boys that have complete opposite sleep patterns. One boy sleeps 8-12 hours a night straight and my other boy wakes every hour, sometimes 2-3 times an hour. I think his longest stretch is about 3 hours straight. Some days I feel like I'm going to go crazy from the lack of sleep. We tried CIO cause so many people recommended it and personally I can't take it. It is horrible for him and me and not to mention that sometimes he wakes his brother up. So I just get up when I hear him cry and sometimes pat his back and rub it, which works  once in awhile. If he is really hysterical I will pick him up and rock him and let him nurse a little. But usually when I put him down he just wakes up again crying. Exhausting. A few times I tried co-sleeping again with him but he just uses me as a pacifier and never really sleeps nor do I. I'm really at my wit send and am so needing some sleep. Please help me with some ideas to help my boy sleep longer at night. Oh I moved him to his crib in their room when he was 10 months old and he was doing pretty good up until a month and a half ago when they both were really sick for a few weeks. Now that they are feeling better I was hoping his sleep pattern would improve but I think it is worse. I don't think he is teething but he could be going through a growth spurt. Thanks for your help and support.

could you post his daily routine so we can see what might be going on. Glad you are not doing CIO anymore, the BW site does not condone any form of CIO or CC but we can help you with more gentle methods x
