Becoming independent sleeper with a crazy schedule
« on: January 31, 2014, 15:17:21 pm »
Hello,

My third baby is going on 6 months old. I have a 6 year old and 3 year old and between soccer practice, gymnastics, school pick up and drops off, doctors visits, volunteering, etc. I am having a hard time with the third becoming an independent sleeper. He generally takes cat naps through out the day in the car. Every night we go through the same routine and most of the time puts himself to sleep, grunting and cooing. However, he wakes frequently through out the night (WAILING, doesn't need food until 3 or 4) and I think it's from a non schedule and small naps during the day. In the night I usually PU/PD and sshh/pat. I need to do this anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour. Usually when he goes back to sleep he is up within 10-45 minutes. I have canceled everything for three days (it's the most I can clear in a row, thanks hubby and friends) I am reading EVERYTHING on this site and just curious how I can work around the obstacles of his day schedules? (He breastfeeds every 4 hours, except evening he usually does a 4:00 feed, dinner, and then nurses before bed as part of our schedule around 7)

Hi it sounds like you have very busy days! Is there perhaps a certain time each day that you could try for a consistent nap say mid morning and then let other nap be a CN?
Your NW could be a build up of OT if LO isn't getting a restorative nap of 1.5 + hours!
I only have 1 DS so have no experience of juggling the day but hopefully someone will pop on and give you some ideas.
