Hugs sorry I missed your post.
When was WU or that day? When did you try BT? - your slap bang in the middle of the 18 mth sr so things won't be perfect for a while I suspect.

No worries, I thought my last post may have scared you off!  :P

I think his WU that day was 6am. I think I put him down for bed around 7:10.
Well the past 3 nights that he's fallen asleep after 8, he has woken up at 5:30ish. And today the strangest thing happened - he fell asleep in the car around 10:45 and even though I took him out 2 minutes later, he was OUT. He has never slept like that before. He NEVER slept in my arms ever. Not even as an infant. He was asleep for about 45 min even being jostled and carried. I suspect this has something to do with the 18 month sleep regression too? I don't think he's going to nap this afternoon so am I being silly to skip it entirely? I am going to just aim for early BT...maybe around 6:30? I am going to just get him out of the house today and run a bunch of errands because he was WILD this morning because I am guessing he was OT from the 5:30am WU and 8pm BT.

So he has been waking up early the past few days (5am or earlier). He is napping now at about 1:30-3 and went to bed around 7:30. He was falling asleep in his high chair today at around 12:30 while eating lunch. I always heard stories about kids who did this and I was like that will never be my kid! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw his eyes close. I picked him up and put him in the crib but he was upset so I let him play in his room another 45 minutes until 1:15, then I put him down and he was napping by 1:30. Are these crazy sleep moments part of the 18 month sleep regression? Like last week in the market too...

[Side q: I was talking with other moms today at a playgroup and they all said that my DS naps really late! They said their LOs nap at around 12/12:30. They are all between 18 months-2 years old. I don't really understand then, why, pushing the nap later "cures" EW when plenty of other kids can nap earlier and have no EW...?]

How to tackle the time change? Yes, we will (hopefully) get a late morning, but when to nap? BT? Should we skip nap and go for early BT, which would really be his new BT?

Pushing then ap later can help with ew. 1pm is a common nap time for lots of LOs, even younger ones as it's a natural time when they feel tired. That said, a later nap does always cure ew. If you think the nap later isn't helping, and making him OT then let's try pulling it back a bit. Your right, if ew is 5am then 1pm is a super long A.

What about trying a few days for catch up. So something like this for 3 days
If ew 5.30/6 then
Nap 12-2
BT 6.30/7

Ok, I suppose I can try that. Today was the same. EW at 5:30 but he was asleep by 1:30. So tomorrow I'll aim for 12...but he doesn't always adjust to whenever I put him down to nap. He will nap when he is ready. I'll see what happens though and keep you posted!

Thanks  :D
