Joey is starting to sleep though the night, goes from 10pm DF until 5 or 6 am, then straight back down until 7 or 8am to start the day.

But my boobs are so full and sore I have to get up at 3 or 4 to pump? I try and pump only small amounts, enough to feel comfortable, but not 5oz, which is his usual intake, according to the scales. HE is sleeping through, when when will I be able to? You know that way when your boobs are so heavy and full, you try and roll over in bed but have to lift them by hand as to not hurt youself?  ::)

Should I stop pumping at night at all? Scared of mastitis  :-\

How much are you pumping? Maybe try expressing by hand just until the full feeling is gone? I was only ever able to pump a few oz first thing in the am and that was enough to inspire the boobs to be super full first thing! When she originally started sleeping through it took a good week or more for things to start settling down.

I have never pumped until nothing came out. I usually stop at 5-6oz as that is how much he will take and I don't want oversupply...

Though once, when it was really bad (DH did two EBM feeds and let me sleep for 10 hours) I pumped 12oz.

I would exprees or pump the bare minimum to keep you comfy or they are not going to settle down easy!

Yes, you don't want to be pumping what he takes or they will just keep making that much. If you did 1oz from each would that be enough to stop the painfulness? Or you could reduce the amount daily by 1oz each until you get down to a much lesser amount and then don't need to pump.
If you can avoid pumping one or two nights in a row and just grin and bare it you will probably find they produce less the next night.

Will do that, thanks! 1oz each for a night and then none tomorrow. Although, he might starting waking again with the  next GS?

Yes, I remember when DD started sleeping through it only took a few nights to adjust. That said, they were always full in the morning - she would feed from one side and I would express the other side which was enough for the df bottle for that night (over 200ml). So yes they still got big but I was able to sleep comfortably. I would def stop expressing overnight asap as the others suggested, and enjoy your full night's sleep (still a distant dream for me with 3mo DS!)
