Please help me get my 13mo to sleep later!
« on: February 12, 2014, 13:50:07 pm »
Hi everyone,

Dd2 generally wakes at 5am, although it has started to creep earlier :( I'm not sure what I can do next to change this. Here is her routine:

Wu 5am
E (I sometimes bf her, so could be a bit of ap going on here)
A
E breakfast
S 9:30/10 for no longer than 30 minutes
A
E lunch
S 12:30/13:00 for as long as she sleeps but this is usually only 1hr 30mins
A
E dinner
A
S 18:15/18:30 latest as I don't want her getting ot if she's woken at 5

Any ideas? I would really appreciate it - I'm 8 weeks pregnant and feeling very tired!!

If it were me I would wean the 5am feed. iI know there are quite a few breast fed babies who have a night feed still at this age but if it is not getting you or her more sleep then I would let it go. She 'could' be waking and then staying awake expecting a feed yk?

Thanks for your reply, Becky.

Yes, I'm inclined to agree with you, although it's more often that I don't feed her these days (poor dh usually gets up with her at 5!). I guess consistency is the key.

I also wondered if I might be putting her to bed too early or if the naps needed tweaking?

I think her routine looks good (apart from the early start obviously!)
What I would hope is that she gets used to not having a morning feed and starts to sleep through a bit longer. x
