Quick question, both sides or not?
« on: February 13, 2014, 16:19:19 pm »
Hi just a quick question re feeding, i always offered only one breast during feedig to my LO when we were on 3 hour easy, we have now stretched to 3.5 easy and just in case i started offering him bot sides during one feeding and he drains them most of the time! Should i continue with this? He is 16 weeks now and we have been doing this for the past 2 weeks now.
When eating from the first side he gest fussy failry quickly i burp him and always offer the same side first he just continues with the fusiness latching on and off once i offer him the other side he drains that one. I have left my DH with a bottle a number of times and LO can drain anything from 180-210 ml!

It seems to be working. Is he fussing at let down or has he drained the first breast?

I would continue as you are if it's been working for the last few weeks :)

I always offered the second side as well :)

He gets fussy after the let down once he pretty much emptied one side,i thought it might be that he is still hungry and just getting impatient because the flow is slower. He is certainly well and trully fill after both sides, he looks like a little drunk :)

Lol - DH always says that about DD3 after she feeds...she has always fed from both sides but DD1 & 2 only did during growth spurts...so if it works for him I would go with it!

Medi always has both sides too. Sometimes she even goes back to the first side for a second go. She's little and hungry ;)
