so... when to move out of a toddler bed?

So we moved hamish to a toddler bed when we were in the old tiny house and it's going well now in our new house- but i keep thinking of how to do his 'big boy room' up! But it occurrs to me that i needn't change the room until i need to change the bed- do people just keep them in those until they no longer fit? Won't that be not till he's at school?

Depends on how big he is! DS is on the 95th centile so moved to his cabin bed when he was 3.5.

Probably good to wait til he can get excited about his room, new bedding etc - make it special for him.

We have just bought olly a new bed for his new bedroom inthe new house. His toddler bed would prob do him for at least another 6 months tbh

We moved ours when the next one needed the bed.. So.. 4 ish? I reckon dd can do at least another year..

The toddler bed should be good until about 5yo-ish, so you can move him whenever you want to do his room up 

DS is still in his cotbed (side off) but I want to repaint his room this summer so will get him a single bed then  I'm having fun gathering ideas on Pinterest

I was wondering about this - DD is big but hoping she can stay in it until 4/5 as we plan to either move or extend and we'll need to - her room is tiny!

This is why we went with it to start with becky- he had a really small room!

It actually makes sense to have them in there for a little longer as then you can move them into a bigger bed- say a king single once they are a little older- then they can reach it and it will last them longer.
