AAARGH!! I feel your frustration my lovely. Can I be honest, I don't know. It doesn't really make sense to me. Your LO is turning out to be a bit of a mystery. TBH R can be like that sometimes. I tend to have to resort to a set plan with a couple of contingencies. So my general rules are when I can't work it out:

1. Ask myself, is the sleep issue bothering me more than her? If so, post to check there's nothing I've missed and stay as consistent with the routine as R will allow.
2. Is there something bothering R - teeth, pre-school, any change that might have an effect
3. Set the nap time (with the contingency of +/- 15mins (no more or less) to allow for EW or decent WU)
4. Set BT (with a contingency of allowing BT up to 30minutes earlier in the case of a rubbish nap or 6pm whatever the WU time if No nap)
5. Keep my fingers crossed that whatever is causes the crazy shenanigans passes before I loose my mind  :o

No real advice. Just some food for thought  ;)

Thanks hon :-* its nice to know its not just in my head! i know this too shall pass. I think no. 1 is what i need to work on the most since the ew bothers me more cos i know the whole day will be off :-/ but thanks for sharing your thoughts. I keep thinking im missing something but maybe this is just her way of regulating? she had a 2h+ nap and almost 12h night yesterday so maybe.she just needed less today? i need to stop thinking about it! lol xx

^^^^ I think there is something in this Aishi.  I can pretty much predict now if J has a nap one day and then sleeps through a 12h night she will refuse to nap the following day.  I'm guessing it's her regulating but it's frustrating to say the least!

So i dont know if shes teething or not ??? her appetite is normal in fact she was starving this morning but she does have a bulging gum on one molar i just noticed today...and dh gave her meds at her only nw at 3 and after half an hour she slept till 7.45 :O :O but OTOH it didnt make a diff at bt or for nap yesterday...im wary of medicating cos i think she got used to it after last batch of teething  :-/

Teething or cu night after short nap yesterday??! Wdyt?

im thinking 1.30 for nap and then 7/7.30 bt depending on nap length....

I know i know developmental leaps need time but seriously still??! She was doing ok with set times but still having nws and or ews. Last night took the cake tho. She had nws between 11.30-1.30 and wu was 6.15 or so. I knew she was ot by nap time but it took her ages to settle today and fell asleep at 1.45.

shes 26 mo now. How much longer is it going to take?? :( :(

ive had enough!

Big hugs hon. For us it seemed to take an age to get straight. Can you post your last few days?

Before nap and bt she calls me back for cuddles, same for nws only she goes to sleep quicker at nws. Of i try to leave her she gets angry/ hysterical crying. Do u think shes just acting up and i should ignore her even if she gets more ot in process?

I wonder hun if your nap is too long and it's robbing her night and making her OT?  2h+ nap is quite a lot for her age and I just wonder (may be totally wrong, but just basing this on J) if you went for same sort of A times ie 6-6.5h before and 4h or so after but cut the nap down to 1h45 or even 1h30 it might work better?  That and trying for some sort of consistent BT?

The first day you posted we'd also have had BT messing from too long a nap, but if we'd done say 1-2.30/45ish instead she'd probably have gone down happily at 7pm.

The second day again I'd have woken by 3.15pm and pd at 7pm and I think J would have settled.

What do you think?

Tbh, your days are still a bit all uber the shop, I assume that because she's being a monkey.

I would cap at 1h45m and not let her sleep past 3.15pm, whatever time she goes to sleep. Aim for a 7pm BT unless your nap has been super short then go for 6.30. If you have an ew keep the day at 12.5/13h max depending on nap lenght.

I would stick to the set nap time, and only go 15mins earlier if absolutely necessary.

For naptime shenanigans I had to take the hard line approach and Wi/WO even I that meant R only fit a short nap.

Hth xx
