Can I tweak this 10mo's schedule for EW?
« on: February 27, 2014, 22:09:27 pm »
Hi, thanks for reading.
DS is 10mo and suffering with almost non-stop teething since Jan 1st. The 8th tooth (I tooth) is coming now!

In January we were overseas in Australia for a month and he adjusted well and his naps went from silly 30-40 min naps to over an hour each time.

When we got back, it took a few days but he got back on schedule pretty well. Only a typical day involves a 30-40 min nap, an hour or so nap, and a sleep from 8pm to 4am/5am feed, then back to sleep till 6:30am.

These 6:30am wake ups are new and I don't like them. He used to sleep till about 7:30am. It's not the end of the world, but I thought I would run it by you guys in case you have a suggestion. I'm wondering if he's overtired from the crappy naps and teething, but I'm worried if I put him to bed earlier, he might wake up even earlier! Here's an  EASY:

Wake at 4am or 5am BF 10 minutes, straight back to sleep
Wake at 6:30am, breakfast
Nap 9:30/10am (sometimes 40min, sometime 1.5H)
Wake 11am-ish
Lunch 12-1pm
Nap 2pm-ish (sometimes 40min, sometimes 1.5H)
Wake 3pm-ish
Dinner 5:30/6pm
Bedtime routine starts 7pm
Bed 7:40/8pm (usually sleeps right through to the 4/5am wake, unless teething pain is particularly bad)

He has rarely since birth ever slept more than 13.5 hours in 24hours. Exclusively BF.

Thank you thank you.

Hi, well teeth are the pits aren't they!?!
Firstly for most LO 1.5 hour sleep is most restful and on 2 naps of that length you would aim for a 13 hour day but if naps are short your LO maybe OT on a long day.
You could try an EBT for a couple of days if your naps are 40 mins to let LO catch up. I would think you'll soon be in the 2-1 nap territory so have a read of this link...

10/11 month old sleep gone wonky? Read this first!

You might also want to push that first A a bit to get a longer nap. x
