As always, I'll take your advice. I'll work on the morning nap and try w2s if she doesn't do it herself!  ;)

I'll try and keep 2 naps for as long as possible. Thank you so so much again. With your advice we've stopped EW, successfully dropped the dreamfeed, worked out she like a short A before BT and managed to get her to take her BT bottle.

I'll stop bothering you now!  ;)

Xx

lol
How about - Increase the first A another 15 mins, really work on W2S.
Reduce the A before the second nap and only expect a CN.
2.5hr A from second nap to BT.

WU
A 4hr 15
S 1hr 30
A 3hr 30
S 45min
A 2hr 30
BT 11.5 - 12 hr night
I'm rushing a bit but I think the above times add up to about 12 day time hours and 12 night time hours.

Oh and as this is a bit of guess work feel free to go for another set of sleep eyes for support.  Just let me know if you start another thread so we can close this one :)

I don't think anyone else would have put up with me for so long!!  ;)

This sounds great and totally doable... Just hope she goes down after the 3.30hrs for the 2nd A. I'm sure she'll get used to it..she has for the shorter A before BT after all.

Thanks so much xx

:)
If that second nap turns into a total refusal once you give up on it start your BT routine almost straight away (it's hard to fit everything in but that A time is continuing to count from her last WU at the first nap so the time is clocking up) and get her down for a super EBT. Have courage, 5.30pm sounds scary but has always worked for me on the desperate days.
On the other hand if she naps well (no W2S or resettling) on the second nap we'll need to look at what happens to BT, either it goes late or we look at capping the second nap. I'm expecting her to CN but you never know.

That will be wishful thinking about the 2nd nap! She had a 45mins one (still can't call it a CN as we're so used to that being the length of her naps! 1.5hr is a double nap in this house  ;) ) but at least she woke up happy!

It's been a very good day I think. I will definitely keep the super EBT in mind should she try and refuse it again... Earliest we've done so far is 5.40pm after you convinced me to do it. It is great to have that to fall back on.

What would I do without your words of wisdom?! Xx

Hi, me again.. So sorry to bother you yet again  :(

Things have been going really well for a week using the A times you gave me before. However, it seems this little monster has a habit of regressing back to a 45-minute nap after a week!

This morning we even had a EW of 5.40am but was content to play for over half an hour before I went to get her.

For the last 3 days we're back to 2x 45mins naps and an EBT of 6.15-6.30pm. I've been trying to keep the A times consistent like before so that's what time BT works out at. But now I'm thinking she's starting to get OT again given the EW this morning.

Even after waking at 5.40am, she made it to 10.30am for her first nap... She  was sooo tired I felt she'd have a longer nap for sure, but to no avail. Dosed her up for the last two mornings thinking it might be teething, but that hasn't helped again.

Do you think I should go back to w2s and up the A times for the am one again? Also, what time would you do BT tonight? She seems to have gotten into the habit of having 11hrs regardless of naps  :(

Xx

Back again hey.

I wonder if something else is bothering her? have you really had a good think about heat/cold/gas/noise/stimulation level?

I would start the W2S again yes. I wouldn't go more on the first A just yet, I think you were at 4hr 15, it's quite high for age, if you really feel you need to increase then do because you are with her, I'm not ;)  I mean, you did a 5hr A today, that's long! You could increase the second and third A by 15 mins though and see if that helps.

A couple of ideas:
- post on naps for any BTDT with early 2-1 (at 9 to 10 months)
- if you're up for it grit your teeth increase second A to a long one (like 4 or 4.5hr) forcing that nap later, to give a much later BT (like 8pm) then her standard 11 hr night will move later and WU should move later within a week. It may be an ugly week though (you can get OT NWs and a grumpy baby).  Once WU goes later I would knock back the second A time because it's only a temp thing to force BT much later.  That way when you need to do EBT you aren't looking at such early BT and WUs which frankly are a draaaaag (well I thought so!).

Thanks again for replying, I know I must be doing your head in by now!

Wrt anything bothering her like you suggested, I really don't think so. It's just so strange. Everything is the same here as it was last week when she was pulling a 1.5hr long nap  :-\

I'll,give the w2s another go. I really don't fancy the even later BT.. She goes down so well atm, I daren't risk any later! And on a purely selfish level, when I've only had 2 x 45mins break from her for the day i want her in bed for the night ASAP! Terrible, I know.

She just wakes up happy and raring to go even after that 5hr-long A! Soooo irritating.

I'll go and bother the naps board as you suggested as I know this is out of the EASY remit now. Thank you so much for all your help xx
