2 weeks of being fantastic in toddler bed but then...
« on: March 24, 2014, 07:18:39 am »
Ok this isn't the worst complaint but I'm juT trying to figure out the best way to deal with this:

My 2 year old has been in a cot bed for over 2 weeks. The first 2 weeks was great he didn't move and was not up until his normal waking time of 6.30 but over the weekend he has been getting out of the bed and knocking on the door and shouting from 5.40.

This morning was 6. Should I leave him scream the house down till his normal get up time as I have a grow clock. If I go into him it's game over as he won't settle again. I'm due another baby in 5 weeks so just probably stressing.

He goes to bed at 7.35-7.40 each evening. I'm hoping when I go on maternity I'll be able to leave him up a little later to get up later but he has always been the child that gets up earlier when that has been done in the past.

Advice please and thank you xx

It could be the move, but do you want us to have a look at his EASY?

I do know for a gro clock to really work you have to be consistent with it.

I know as he was so good with his gro clock but now is knocking at the door. Maybe I should
Leave things to entertain him in the morning until his gro clock sun comes up. His routine is the following:

Up at the moment around 6
Breakfast
12 lunch
Sleep from around 12.30 to 2
4/5 dinner
Bed at 7.40

that is his child care routine. At home it's exactly the same apart from he sometimes goes down for a nap from 11-1 then wakes up and has lunch then. This just pushes dinner back

well your routine looks good - perhaps those earlier naps when at home are leading him into slightly earlier WUs though. CAn you try and keep nap at the same time each day. I would imagine he's likely to be more stimulated at child care if there are other children about so he should be able to last at least as long at home. What do you think?

Ok I am having a problem with his nap full stop. Unless we are out for a walk or in the car he refuses his nap. Is this normal for a 2 year old. He was always such a textbook baby and now he is far from it. He just won't settle in his bed or even in our bed. What should I do. I know in the crèche he lies on a mattress outside and I have tried this at home but it doesn't work. I'm getting so stressed by it as I'm due another baby in 5 weeks
