EW - not sure what to do
« on: March 25, 2014, 02:02:33 am »
Hi All

My 22 month old has been early waking for most of her life.  I've reached the stage of feeling so tired and want to sort this out.  I'm just not sure what avenue to try though as I'm not sure if she is OT, UT or what????

She is an independant sleeper and normally goes to nap and bedtime easily.  However, over the last 2 months she is resisting naps (hence why I think we need a rountine change)
Her current routine is

5am-5:30am Wakes
12:30/1pm Naps for a different amount of time each day (sometimes 1 hour, sometimes 2 hours)
7pm bedtime

I have thought of caping her nap, but then keep reading on other posts that perhaps she is OT???  Totally confused on what I should be trying.
Also, thinking of getting a gro-clock and trying that method.

Any help appreciated!

Can anyone help?  Or just post what a 'normal' 22 month old routine would look like?  thanks

I haaaaate EWs. I'd almost rather a NW!

DD is almost 22 months, and on a good day/night (not now, she has hand, foot and mouth) her schedule is:

WU: 6:45/7
S: 1:00/1:15-2:30/2:45 (I cap at 1.5 hours)
BT: 7:30, asleep by 8

Good luck!

At this age she should understand a gro clock or lights on a timer. Do you use this already? They really help lo's understand when it is night and time to sleep and when it is day and they can get up.

It sounds like OT to me, her day is quite long. Are there more 1 hour naps than 2 hour ones?

Any teeth coming through?

You could try a 6.30pm BT just to see if it makes any difference but my daughter was /is a chronic EW'er and the only thing that has helped is a gro clock...
