Adapting the EASY schedule
« on: April 08, 2014, 16:05:30 pm »
In 3 weeks, I go back to work. My 6 week old will be with her dad for 2 or 3 days out of the week since he works 12 hour shifts and at a sitter the other days. The sitter will follow any routines I suggest. However, the EASY schedule just doesn't work for my schedule. LO has to be up at 5:00-5:30 on sitter days (10 days a month) as daddy is leaving the house to take her to the sitter at 6 am. She will fall asleep as soon as she gets in the car. I will pick her up around 3:45 and she will fall asleep in the car, which gives me time to get home and get a quick workout in. How would I make this fit the EASY schedule? I've also noticed when trying to implement that LO is more awake in the morning and needs more activity time for that first 3 hour stretch. She doesn't show any signs of being tired until about 45 min-1 hr after the nap was supposed to start.

Hello and welcome to BW :)

As it's only 10 days per month that Daddy will be taking her so early to the CM I probably wouldn't base your routine around this. If possible just leave her sleeping until the last minute and transfer her from the crib directly into the car seat and carry her out. With any luck she will continue to sleep until (or after) he drops her at the CM.  I would just pop a blanket over her in the car seat rather than getting her fully dressed so she is less disturbed. If you use a gro bag for sleeping maybe switch to fleece sleep suit on those nights so the 5 point harness can still be fitted well.
