I offer water and both boys will drink some.  I just don't know what to do for the best.  Yes mainly fruit veges and cereal (porridge, weetabix etc)

They still drink their bedtime bottles even though they had solids about 1.5hrs before.  It's just the lunch time / 11am ish bottle I don't know what to do, sorry to be so awkward  :-[

It's ok Hun, I'm not sure what's best for them food wise as our recs are different YK? I just found for both boys too much solids really =ed more unsettled nights.

I did think of an alt sleep routine for you to mull over though...shorter morning nap longer pm. It may help with the ew.
So something like this with 6.30 WU
Nap 9.15-10.15
Nap 1-2.45/3 if they will sleep up to two hours
BT 6.30

My gut says to put them 11ish bottle back in and maybe offer a little solids at some point after if I'm home or it's convenient.  Then I can stick with the other two meals and just make them smaller... I agree with you Sara about unsettledness O was the same.  They're quite good with small "finger food" and lumps so I feel they're heading in the right direction.

I like the routine but then their milk feed would be abut 3.30pm due to picking up O from school and then they won't take their bedtime milk.

I'd definitely cut back on the solids. The advice I was given is that they'd be on 3 meals a day by 8-9mos from my HV. We actually built up to more than that quicker but G is hungry and her milk intake is variable anyway as we're combi-feeding now I'm back at work. Xxx

It's weird cos it was the hv who told me they go straight to 3 meals a day. Anyway they're having their milk now!

So today they woke between 6.15 and 6.45 (with some intervention from me from 5am) h slept 9.40 till 11.10ish but had to be resettled at 40mins j slept from 10am and I woke him about 11.30am

Laura, that's one of the many problems with HV, they all seem to give conflicting advice. I've just tried to be led by G in a way, we're doing BLW so it's perhaps been less of an issue because she joins us at mealtimes and initially most food went on the floor (and often still does!). You can always try cutting back on the solids a little bit and seeing if they take that bottle better and how it impacts. Are they hungry when they wake at 5am? G is still feeding then or sometimes earlier in the night and is then up at 6am.

Catherine might have some good advice because B was a massive fan of solids early on and it was impacting upon his nights. Certainly introducing solids here led to a bit of unsettled ness at night initially but they have helped her reflux no end now.

Well they then slept this afternoon from approx 1.45 for an hr j had a little longer but something woke h. So bed will be about 6.30 which gives a long a time till bed. Do you think today was ok? I'm thinking I maybe able to get people to collect o for me on some days so their routine could cross school pick up time for at least a portion of the wk. Also Nicola and Heidi can you post me your one nap routines pls. They're nearly 7mths and I think they maybe be able to go to one nap sooner rather than later.

CN you offer a smaller milk feed at 3.30 rather than 8 oz maybe do 6 and 6 at BT instead? O could you offer the sippy in the arvo then solids ie 3.30 sippy 4 solids then BT bottle?

do they tack on? If so and if you think the A to BT is too long go for 6pm BT. :-\
We were on 1 nap at 9-10 mths with both boys but T and Z both tacked on and pulled long long nights or long long naps.

I am looking forward to M riding her bike every other day so I don't have to plan around the school run so if you can get help with O some days that would take the pressure off for sure.

E's day looks like this:

7:30 wake & bottle
9:00 solids breakfast
10:00 bf snack (no idea how she still has room!)
12:00 bottle
12:30 nap (so far has been anywhere from 2 hrs to 2 hrs 45 min)
3:00 - school days has to be up by this time, otherwise we let her sleep
3:45/4:00 bottle
5:30 supper - finger food
7:15/7:30 bottle & bed

At some point we will probably have breakfast sooner and add a solids lunch in before nap maybe (I think that is how I did it
with the older two). E does not really tack on so we have to push through to bedtime regardless (unless it was a super crappy nap then I would add in a 20/30 min catnap at 3:30/4:00). We were getting upwards of 2 hr nw's though so kind of forced my hand. She has been doing really well though, today might be dicey as her nap was a bit short!

Clearly something in the water!

Both boys asleep by 6.20pm they were shattered
H woke 10.30pm till nearly 11pm
J then woke 11pm till gone midnight
H woke at 2.15am and was fed but was wide awake (really unusual) and didn't settle till gone 3am
J then woke about 2.45am was fed again wide awake and settled about 3.30
J then woke at 5.30am but with some intervention went back to sleep till 6.30
H woke just after 6am

So I don't understand why they were so awake? Was it too long a nap too late or just v ot? I'm pleased though that we dh wasn't up from 5am as he has been. I kept them awake till 9.30 although h was really grumpy from 8.30 onwards. I guess that was their previous nap time.

I thought having that extra bottle was going to help. However I did give them their 'lunch' food at dinner time instead of their usual porridge and finger food type bits. It's really causing me to struggle today.
