We've gone a bit backwards cos of them having  cough and cold so there's been quite a lot of picking up to settle in the night but often they've been sick or are coughing. However there has been no (well one occasion last night when h had got so worked up going to sleep) settling to sleep. I'm not holding them to sleep. I'm literally putting them in their cots and they'll generally go off quite quickly which I'm assuming will help with resettling during the night as well ?

I don't have any v helpful suggestions....except that if mine do those little catnaps I ignore them when planning naps, so C had a cheeky 5 mins yesterday morning but I just put her down at 9 as usual. I quite like it if they play in their cots for a bit before going to sleep. Sounds like the ST is going really well, so maybe just carry on with your set naps for a bit and see? Or if your first nap doesn't work with your ideal WU time then maybe you need to push it a bit later so that if they do have a good night the naps will still work. Because soon every night will be a good night!!

Yep all really good points you make about YOUR boys and how they best nap :))
I know I have a tendency to hope that what has worked with my girls will work for everyone else around me to!
But what I also know is that often, in my heart of hearts, my gut instinct has always been right and it's generally when I listen to other people telling me that they're tired or hungry etc that things go awry. So firstly i apologise for assuming your boys might be overtired after thirty mins when you know them and I don't. Secondly I thank and commend you for having the mummy instinct and strength to let me know this.
I'm waiting for their colds to subside so we can see exactly how much progress they've made with all of this recent intervention :)

That's true - I feel like your bad sleeper is v similar to my naughty C but of course it's not a one size fits all approach. Also I don't have another child to worry about. You are doing a phenomenal job, twins is hard as nails and you've got your little boy, and you are poorly. Keep going!!!

Hope you didn't take offence? :-*  I know everyone just wants to help.

Today has been a strange one.  I put them down to nap just after 9am (wu of about 5.30am) I woke them at 10am
Popped out in the car for literally a ten minute journey and they both fell asleep about 11.30!!  J woke quite soon after due to coughing but H stayed asleep in his carseat for a while.  Have just put J down at 1.45pm and H went down too but took 30mins to fall asleep, no crying just moaning!

Oh I should add another positive from the little st I did is that j fairly consistently sleeps through the 40min mark. Something he didn't often do.

No offense taken :))))
Yes you've definitely broken that 40min wake up thing that j had going on for a while there!
What a shame they cat napped in the car but good on you for still putting them down later on.
Guessing you're in bed time routine right now so keeping everything crossed for a reasonable night for you all!

Well spoke too soon. J woke at 40mins this afternoon. I think it's ut as I had psychologist today and my friend had them so I let them sleep 1.5hrs this morning so she wouldn't have to worry about them napping.

So in the am I do 3.5hrs to get long nap. Did 3hrs this afternoon and short nap from j. H still asleep but hasn't hit 40mins yet!  I just wish their damn cough and cold would go cos stuffy noses and coughs wake them.

I hope that bed time was ok for you all. I agree... Can't wait for their colds to pass now...
My girls turned one today actually. Was a really emotive day for me just realizing that we had survived a year! Feels good though.
Hope you're sleeping soundly right now. Will check in again in the morning.
Sending hugs as always!

Wow happy birthday beautiful girls. 1yr is my big milestone although atm getting through another day is.

I just don't know what to do with j. He's just waking so much and is hard to settle. His cold is much better although still coughing a bit. I sometimes wonder if it's to do with how much mummy time he's had in the day as he's so sensitive and v clingy atm.
