Preparing for New Baby
« on: May 24, 2014, 18:31:43 pm »
Hi Everyone,

I have an 18 month old and I'm expecting the next one in three months.  I really want to get a handle on sleep right off the bat with the new LO.  With our first, we really fell into some bad habits with props and we're addressing those issues now... 18 months later!

My question is: I used on-demand breastfeeding with my first and I really liked that method.  If I decide to use EASY for the second, does that mean that on-demand feeding is out and I need to use more of a schedule?  I mainly just don't want my new DS to develop the habit of falling asleep on the breast or with a pacifier as my DD did.  I also like the idea that the baby is accustomed to routine.

Also I know that BW advocates for "starting as you mean to go on."  However, does that mean a schedule right from day 1?  Or is there more of an adjustment period at first?

Thanks!

Ok.  After a bit of searching, I think I found my answers.

Breastfeeding and EASY in the first few weeks.

Post here if there are any other notes I should read.

Thanks!!
