Night wakening x 2
« on: May 26, 2014, 21:38:08 pm »
Hi all
I have a 17 week old baby who follows the 4 hour EASY. She has a dummy at the 7pm feed but doesn't need it after her dream feed, she will just settle herself. Then around 3am or 4am is fidgety until the dummy gets out back in. We have tried disturbing her an hour before and it works for a while then stops. Also she wakes at 5.50am and wants dummy again then will sleep a but longer till about 6.30am. Any help gratefully received.

Do you think it could be hunger? There is a big growth spurt around 4 months. Usually when mine settled with a soother only to wake a short time later they needed a feed. Are you bf or ff?

Maybe, we are ff. she has 1oz extra before bed. It's like clockwork wakening though?

Do you mean the 5:50 one is clockwork? We used to have a 6:00 one, I think she was hearing dh heading to work. Have you ever tried feeding on the earlier wake (3-4 am) to see if it makes a difference?

Hi Hun it sounds as if it could be hunger. I would try to feed for a day or two at that 3am wakeup and if she takes a full feed and goes right back to sleep then it was hunger. A few days won't make a bad prop.  Could the dummy be the issue?

I agree, a few days won't make a huge issue, especially if going in you are aware that you don't want to create a prop!
