Dropping 8pm cluster feed for 5 week old
« on: May 30, 2014, 19:51:28 pm »
Hello! I have fairly successfully been implementing EASY for ds since 2 weeks and currently feeding 7, 9:30, 12:30, 3:30, 6, 8, 11 (df). He's then waking for a feed around 3:30am. The last week it has been almost impossible to wake him for the 2nd cluster feed at 8pm which makes me wonder if I need to change up the routine and need some help.

I am worried about dropping the 8pm cluster before dropping the middle of the night feed but if I make sure he feeds well at 6pm and bring the df earlier might this work? Or could bring feed to 7pm and then df at 11.

Or am I making dropping the middle of the night feed much harder for myself because he's not getting enough calories in the day??

Help!!

According to Tracy, cluster feeding can be dropped around 6w so where you are now. You could change you two last feeds (6&8) to 6:30 or 7, just before BT. Than just see what is the best time to do DF. 11 can still be a good time.

You may also keep 6pm feed (let's say do it immediately after catnap and than do a top up feed after bath before BT. Probably LO will take less than at 8pm but still you will tank up. And than of course DF.

WDYT?
