« on: June 06, 2014, 17:36:18 pm »
My son is 8 months old. And I have a lot problem with him. First thing is about his sleeping. And the second thing that I want some help. When see the sigh that tell me he want to sleep I alway hold and give him the breastfeeding until he fall sleep. Right now I decides to give him a formula instead of bf because I have to go back to work next month. I have to left him with my auntie who is a Asian woman. She always do the way she want. She doesn't want to follow the baby routine. That why my son is confusing. His routine was destroy and I am observing his new routine. Start over again. It hard to me. how should I do? Or do you know who can help me? (I lives in California)  :'(

((Hugs))

How long have you got until you return to work and when does your DS have BFs at the moment? Most people find it easier to switch one feed at a time so their supply can adjust gradually and there's less chance of engorgement etc.  wait a few days/a week and then switch another.

Does your DS take a bottle already?  If not, you might prefer to offer the formula straight from a sippy cup.

Also, lots of mamas keep the morning and/or evening bf when they return to work so if your schedule allows this and you'd like to, there's no reason why you'd have to switch all BFs to formula.

If you need some help with getting him to sleep without bfing then I'd recommend you start a separate post on the general sleep board here:
